Description

Thank you for your interest in attending NRNC's summer day camp! NRNC is a non-profit 501(c)3 in Olympia, Washington offering year-round programming to help build students’ knowledge and connection to the nearshore environment through fun inquiry-based science projects on the beach.

NRNC’s camps are where students receive inspirational instruction in the basics of inquiry-based science on the beach. Our trained staff keeps the momentum moving in this engaging camp where we have 2-3 instructors per 12 students. Having fun with friends on the beach and connecting to the valuable resources we have in the South Sound has been a hallmark of what we strive for at NRNC for over 35 years. Nested in one of the healthiest estuaries in Puget Sound, students will get access to and gain knowledge about what makes this estuary so special.

NRNC is following Washington State Department of Health and CDC guidelines for having a safe summer camp. We require all students and staff to wear masks. We will be spending all day outside. Please prepare your camper and have appropriate layers and clothing to keep them warm. We are also limiting our enrollment to 12 students per camp.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

Summer Camp enrollment is first-come, first served.

To apply, please submit this program application (including financial aid request form if applicable).

We will receive a confirmation email within one week of registering. Please contact us if you do not receive additional information about camp within this timeframe.

TUITION AND FINANCIAL AID

Sessions 1 through 3:
Members - $140 (To qualify for a membership discount you need to have a Household or Pigeon Guillemot membership or higher.)
Non-Members - $160

Thanks to generous donors, need-based financial aid is available. We try very hard to make camp accessible to everyone. Please ask for what you need and pay what you can. The first round of Financial Aid will be distributed in early May. For the best chance of financial aid please get your applications in by April 30th.

We work all year long to keep our costs low, to offer more programming, and to provide financial aid through grants, fundraising, benefits, etc. As a nonprofit, any amount paid over the standard fees is considered a tax-deductible donation and is greatly appreciated. Let us know if you need a tax receipt, and we will send you one. Please consider sponsoring another camper. Thank you!
